Two weeks ago, we stood at the beginning. The Solar Eclipse in Aquarius cracked something open; a new cycle, a new chapter, a genuine cosmic shout. We were told to plant seeds and release them, trust the Universe was already moving. And now, here we are at the other bookend of that eclipse portal, because this Full Moon on March 3rd is not just a Full Moon. It’s a Total Lunar Eclipse, and it closes the portal that opened on February 17th.

Whatever you seeded two weeks ago? The moon is about to illuminate it. Possibly uncomfortably. Probably exactly as it should be.

Also, it peaks at 3:33 AM Pacific on 3/3. If you needed a sign that something cosmically intentional is happening, there it is.

The Blood Worm Moon: What’s in a Name?

March’s Full Moon carries the traditional name of the Worm Moon, named for the earthworms that begin to surface as the ground softens and thaws after winter. It’s easy to wrinkle your nose at that and move on, but hold on, because the earthworm is actually one of nature’s great purifiers. Earthworms detoxify, aerate, and fertilize soil. They speed up decomposition. They make new growth possible. They are the reason your garden can bloom at all.

Because this is a Total Lunar Eclipse, the Full Moon will pass completely into Earth’s shadow and turn a deep, blood red, earning it the name Blood Moon. The sky will do something genuinely dramatic tonight, and that drama is intentional. The cosmos has a flair for the symbolic. Things you’ve been operating quietly in the background, hoping not to look at directly, get pulled into the light. And unlike a regular Full Moon, whose revelations tend to land sharply and immediately, eclipse energy unfolds over time, often over the following weeks and months. So if something feels murky right now rather than crystal clear, that’s okay. You’re in the first moments of a longer process of becoming aware.

This is also the fifth eclipse in a set of seven along the Virgo-Pisces axis, a cycle that began in September 2024 and runs through February 2027. You have been in this slow, deep process of dissolving and rebuilding for over a year. This eclipse is a significant checkpoint, and for many of you, it will feel like a threshold.

Jupiter doesn’t neutralize the intensity of an eclipse; it doesn’t erase the hard truths that surface. But it does mean you won’t be staring at them alone, in the dark, with no hope. Jupiter’s presence here means you can see the possibility and the benefit even as things shift and change around you. You don’t have to operate entirely on blind faith.

You may have to wade through some choppy waters. You may have to release something that has genuinely run its course. But this eclipse is oriented toward growth and expansion, not just loss. Let Jupiter remind you of that when it feels heavy.

Mercury is currently retrograde in Pisces, which adds a significant layer to this eclipse: this is not a time for new starts or forward momentum.
