The second half of September brings some beautiful reminders from the sky. Between September 19 and 22, a series of events line up that highlight themes of truth, balance, and renewal. You don’t need a telescope to appreciate them—you just need to step outside and let yourself notice what’s happening above you.
September 19: On the morning of the 19th, you’ll see a delicate triangle in the eastern sky before dawn: the crescent Moon, bright Venus, and Regulus, one of the brightest stars in Leo. For a short window, Venus even slips behind the Moon, disappearing from sight before returning again. This alignment feels like an invitation to pay attention to the parts of ourselves we sometimes keep tucked away. Venus represents love and creativity, the Moon reflects our intuition, and Regulus is tied to courage and destiny. When they all come together, it’s worth asking: Where are you being called to show up more fully? What creativity or truth might you be hiding that’s ready to come forward?
September 21: Just a couple of days later, Saturn reaches what astronomers call “opposition,” which means it’s directly opposite the Sun from our perspective. For us, it means Saturn looks brighter and clearer than usual, rising at sunset and visible all night. Saturn is often thought of as the planet of structure, responsibility, and long-term vision. On the same day, parts of the world will also see a partial solar eclipse. Even if you’re not in the path to witness it, the energy of an eclipse is still powerful. It’s a reminder that clarity sometimes comes through shadows, and that beginnings and endings often happen side by side. This pairing of Saturn and the eclipse is a great moment to reflect on the structures in your life. Which ones feel steady and supportive? Which ones are you ready to adjust or even release?
September 22: The very next day is the equinox—equal hours of daylight and night. It’s one of only two days each year when the Earth is in perfect balance. From here in the Northern Hemisphere, we tip into fall, the season of harvest and preparation for the darker months ahead. The equinox is a natural moment to pause. Take a few minutes to check in: Where do you feel balanced in your life, and where do you feel pulled too far in one direction? What are you ready to gather in and celebrate from the past season? What are you ready to let go of as you move forward?
These few days remind us that the sky is always shifting, and so are we. Planets shine brightly and then fade. The Sun balances light and dark for just one day before tipping the scales. We are part of the same cycles. So step outside, notice what’s above you, and let it be a mirror for what’s happening within. The equinox, the eclipse, the triangle of Moon, Venus, and Regulus—all of it is a reminder that truth and balance aren’t static. They’re something we keep discovering, again and again.
